The biggest month-on-month audience growth in June was at Reach regional Devon Live, which was up by a third to reach 5.3 million people. Reach sister title the Mirror was up 2.8% month on month but down 8% year on year to 20.7 million. The Daily Express was the biggest winner in the top ten by audience, rising by 2.2% month on month but 31% compared to June last year, reaching 18.5 million.

Of the 44 newsbrands to record an audience decline month on month, Wales Online saw the steepest fall, down by more than a quarter (25.7%) to 5.2 million. Reach-owned regional Yorkshire Live (examinerlive.co.uk) saw the biggest month-on-month audience growth, up 9.1% to 4.2 million. Newsquest’s The Herald reported the biggest year-on-year audience growth among the top 50 (up 77% to 2.6 million) and was among just six sites that grew month on month (up 3.9%) according to the latest Ipsos iris data.

Mergermarket Ltd appears in the list for the first time in position 36 with turnover of £84.2m in 2023. Delinian, the former Euromoney Institutional Investor which was taken over by a private equity consortium in 2022, dropped seven spots. Sky dropped two, to sixth, and News UK dropped four places to tenth after parent company News Corp broke out previously unavailable information about its UK revenue.
